Experience New Frontiers with HGC and AMS-IX
Today we are delighted to announce that HGC and AMS-IX has marked another important milestone to serve an ever-increasing interconnection growth globally. We have jointly operated 5 valuable IX platform in the Chicago and Bay Area, and it’s the second partnership between HGC and AMS-IX after the first launch of AMS-IX Hong Kong in 2012, which touted as the first of its kind in Asia between an Asian carrier and a Europe-based exchange.
AMS-IX US will serve as a neutral and independent peering platform with both private and public peering services at carrier-grade level to ISPs, internet content providers and telecom carriers. Amsterdam based, AMS-IX, is the industry’s largest internet exchange with more than 479 interconnected IP networks and a traffic peak of over 1.5 terabit per second, also hosts the first mobile peering point worldwide, the GRX and the mobile data exchange and the first interconnection of IPX network.
International OTT, ISP, CSP, CDN, MNO & internet companies are enabled to distribute content to extensive eyeballs with enhanced user experience through internet peering across US, Europe and Asia.

The exchange hubs will be integrated in HGC’s global premium edge digital infrastructure which enables peering members in both Chicago and Bay Area to reach more than 130 locations all over the world via HGC’s telecom hubs in Los Angeles and New York. This development has lead to greater network efficiency and expansion in a flexible and value for money manner as the customer can benefit from increased speed, diversification and back up. The new platform enables resourceful and direct internet traffic exchange with fewer network hops reducing costs on connectivity and increasing routing resilience.
