Express Gateway to the world
Leveraging the ubiquitous network and extensive portfolio of services, HGC has established a leading position in the local and international fixed network industry, delivering sophisticated fixed-line telecommunications solutions to corporate and carrier customers in Hong Kong and overseas.
Our international network is equipped with highly resilient and fully protected features. In addition, our 24/7 international Network Operations Centre (INOC) provides round-the-clock monitoring and service support to ensure total customer network satisfaction.
Today, HGC runs an extensive fibre-optic network in Hong Kong. It also provides network routings that span the globe via submarine and terrestrial cable facilities offering a high degree of resilience. HGC's advanced voice, data and IP network today links its home market with the rest of the world and carries traffic between internationally-dispersed geographies.
Recognising that mainland China will become a powerhouse in the global economy, HGC was one of the first few fixed network operators in Hong Kong to have established direct telecommunications links to mainland China. Since 2000, HGC has built fibre-optic cable systems at Lok Ma Chau, Man Kam To and Lo Wu to provide cross-border telecommunications services.
HGC becomes one of the key players in Hong Kong to integrate five cross-border routes with the networks of all three mainland China's tier-1 telecommunications operators.
HGC network reach also stretches from its home base in Hong Kong to emerging markets like mainland China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Through co-operation with carriers around the world, HGC has extended its footprint to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the United States and the United Kingdom.
Marseille is one of the biggest data gateways in Europe and one of the major interconnection points for international submarine cables linking Europe and Middle East, Africa and Asia. Marseille is also a major strategic hub serving a community of hundreds of carriers and service providers.
HGC can interconnect with the France Internet Exchange for peering, establishing routes between different parties under the telecom ecosystem.
As an infrastructure-based fixed-lined operator, HGC is dedicated to continuously investing in network diversity and helping drive the pace of
global digitalisation. We continue to expand international network footprint, reinforce HGC’s presence worldwide and provide additional gateways to Asia and other emerging markets. Our end customers will be ensured to enjoy more comprehensive, end-to-end network services.
