Pacific Telecommunications Council Conference (PTC) 2016
PTC 2016 was held on 17-20 January in Honolulu, Hawaii, where over 1800 executives from more than 75 countries attended. Themed ‘Reimagining Telecoms’, PTC 2016 explores ways to reshape strategies, revenue models, products and services, and discover how every industry and organisation adapts to an era of communications and computing abundance.
Andrew Kwok, HGC’s President of International and Carrier Business took part in a panel session themed ‘Reimaging the Communication Business. In face of tremendous data consumption in mobile network, Mr. Kwok addressed the need for carriers to enhance traditional offerings, while exploring opportunities in niche market and partnering with OTT players to create new revenue streams. To stay competitive in the digital era, Mr. Kwok also encourages provision of customer-based service and data analytic service to create a new and valued-added customer experience.
In addition, HGC and Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX) announced an extension of their partnership to provide AMS-IX Hong Kong service at PTC 2016 in Hawaii. A World-Class Internet Peering Platform, AMS-IX Hong Kong will continues to boost regional Internet traffic and develop Hong Kong into a major Internet Exchange hub in the region.
